Recently, the current SECU Board of Directors eliminated the ability for members to speak at the 2024 Annual Meeting. Your credit union, your vote, but not your your voice. How can they listen if you can't speak. Over 8,000 of you petitioned to add our names to the ballot. The member-nominated candidates are listening to you. We want to be your voice.
The current Board of Directors eliminated the Member Loan Review Committee. The member-nominated candidates want to restore it. The Member Loan Review Committee was a group of volunteer members that would review any loan request that had previously been denied. Any member that had their loan request be denied had the option to have their loan request reviewed by fellow members.
Kirby Parrish discusses what the credit union is all about and why it is different from other financial institutions. He explains what a $30 dollar loan can be more important than a million dollar loan. How how these little loans can make a big difference to a struggling member.
